Hi everyone! I have missed participating in Fun Mondays and am so happy to be able to play again! Life has just been so very busy lately. I still have photos from as far back as May 20th that I haven’t even looked at. But slowly I’m wading through them.
I almost sat this one out too because well, I have nothing on my walls. I’m pretty boring. I do have a couple of empty photo frames on my wall because I like them but haven’t been able to decide which photos to put in them so. . . And I almost sat out because this weekend we were extremely busy taking photos at three cancer charity benefits, which I’ll tell you all about later. It was an exciting weekend up in the northwoods but tonight we get to sleep in our own bed and relax a bit.
One last quick note, if you haven’t been around lately you may not know that I am in the process of moving sites. The new place is still extremely bland but you are welcome to go over there to read and comment if you find it easier. I also put the link up there at the top of the sidebar to make things easy.
I almost forgot, I do have one thing on the wall, above my tv in the bedroom. He used to hand above our master bedroom fireplace in Texas. Now the rest of the photos are things that used to be on my wall but aren’t currently. Hope you don’t mind my cheating.
When we bought our house in Texas there were several mounts on the wall and we ooed and awed over them so much that the previous owner left us this one. I would love to tell you he was still on the wall, but he is currently being stored. I can’t wait to get him back up somewhere, along with our 8’ long longhorns. That orangey color on the wall was in our living room, kitchen and hallway areas of the house we built. I don’t remember its proper name but I always called it pumpkin.
My favorite color in our whole house though was in our bedroom. A sort of terra cotta. (side note - the reason the moulding is down slightly from the ceiling is because there’s rope light up there for some ambient uplighting).
Just off the master bedroom was the master bath and I also am pretty fond of the colors on that wall. I call it a kind of mustard color. We never did get around to hanging a mirror, we just couldn’t agree on what to do with that wall. But up in that corner was a small flat screen tv so I could relax in the whirlpool and watch tv. I know it’s not on the wall but we found that old buffet at an antique store. We got those sinks and faucets off eBay for a steal and I fond the thing the faucets are on at a hardware or craft store. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.
PS - Can you tell I missed you guys? I went a little overboard, please forgive me. Also forgive me for the photos, they were all taken before I had my lovely new camera.
Now jump on over to Jan's place and see who else is playing. I know you'll find her hospitality outstanding!
Lisa, I find it amusing that a person, who takes so many photos, has bare
walls. The things that you do have are very unique. Welcome back to Fun
Monday
No offense dear, but I have a very big aversion to dead animals on walls.
Where are all your gorgeous pictures??? I do love the colours of the walls
and especially your sideboard! Its lovely!
Oh Lisa, that buffet/sink is beautiful! OMG, I just love it! I liike your
wall colors, too. Don't ya just hate plain old white walls? I'm dragging
today, so don't bother heading over to see my post until later today. Have
a great week!
Love the colors, love the furniture, love the wall hangings...but most of
all I LOVE the molding by the ceiling!!! Wow....love it, just love it.
Thanks for posting. I have a deer head story. When we were first married,
Bob went deer or elk hunting with my Dad, for a number of years. His first
buck was a beauty, and he had it mounted. We hadn't bought our house yet,
this was in the mid-late '60's. The deer head hung over our bed in various
apartments. I use to hang my 'hippy' necklaces from the antlers. Bob
didn't like that, but what's a boy to do when he's in love? We eventually
donated the deer head and many other sets of antlers, when we moved and
down-sized to our current home.
I'm confused. Is all this old house or is some current house? I love the
terra cotta color in the bedroom and the buffet/sink is too cool.
Your decorations are loads of fun, and your home is beautiful.
I love the terracotta and your bathroom is beautiful. I am so envious of
your whirlpool bath, sigh. Welcome back. :D
Your mountings remind me of a friend of ours that have something similar to
both of yours and than some. I have always enjoyed his trophies. Your walls
are colorful something that mine are not. Beautiful molding and the rope
lighting sounds temptuous.
Dear Lisa: Thank you for the nice comment on my memory page. No, my
daughter doesn't have cancer; my mother just recovered, and I've recovered
twice.
I'm drooling over your buffet and sinks! Beautiful. I like the bedroom wall
color too...
Welcome back ... and well done! I’m relieved to know I’m not the only one
with minimal things on my walls … though I’ve got a ton of stuph I’ve
removed from my walls and may put up again some day. I didn’t think of
photographing that however ;--) I do like the colors on y our walls,
though mine are mostly bright white rather than colors.
This task took me lots longer than I anticipated, but I eventually posted
this afternoon at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,
Those are beautiful, I love the animals
HI Lisa,
This is my fisrt time here and I got a funky sign saying that I've been
spammed. Not sure what that's all about but I'll proceed anyway.
You have great color choices for your walls especialy the pumpkin color.
How were you ever able to leave it?
Have a great week.
Cori
Your house is quite colorful! And the colors are very soothing. Love the
head with the horns and the sinks in the bathroom!
Yes, I'm with you on the terra cotta room--could live quite well in there.
Along with everyone else am wild about the buffet.bathroom sinks--how great
the wood looks with those blue sink bowls. Good for the designers.
I love the colors in the last two photos.
welcome back, hon. and i agree -- it's amusing that the photographer has
bare walls. is that kinda like the shoemaker's children going barefoot? ;-)
Lisa! I absolutely LOVE the pictures!!! The bathroom really came together
with all of your very cool "finds".....I love a unique bathroom!! And the
colors of the walls are great. I especially love the ambience lighting in
the BR. Terrific!!! Never seen it done quite like tht before. Now...are
these in your current house, or in the house in Texas?
I could wrtie the same as Karisma. I don't like dead animals on the wall
either it looks so sad !
I ordered "amber" sun glasses and was told "Oh, you mean Persimmon!" So..
maybe your wall is persimmon.
Are WI and Texas all that different?
I want that sink! AMAZING!
I need to paint a wall pumpkin (or persimmon). This institutional beige
I've got going must stop.
I commented over at the other place. It looks pretty good so far.
