Sorry for the crappy photo, it was one of the first I snapped while trying to master the lighting in my lightbox. Anyway, Earthcaches are a recognized cache on Geocaching. They're a LOT of fun as they as showing off a feature on the Earth, such as fossils, artesian wells, etc. If you go to the earthcache website you'll find there is a Masters Program:
Our trip to Missouri over Thanksgiving helped us complete the platinum level, that one is a toughy! Even though we have completed the masters program we will still being doing earthcaches, they're just to fun to pass by. :)
This looks fascinating and more inviting to me than traditional geocaching.
